Presentation
A 1.5% pellet formulation of Fenbendazole as a ready to administer anthelmintic for cattle and pigs. 1 g Panacur 1.5% Pellets contains 15 mg active ingredient Fenbendazole.
Uses
For the treatment of cattle infected with mature and developing immature forms of nematodes of the gastro-intestinal and respiratory tracts including:

Panacur is usually effective against inhibited larvae of Ostertagia spp. and against Moniezia spp. of tapeworm.
Pigs: For the treatment of pigs infected with:
Hyostrongylus rubidus
Ascaris suum
Oesophagostomum spp.
Trichuris suis
Metastrongylus apri(lungworm) (as an aid in its control)
Panacur also has an ovicidal effect on nematode eggs.
Dosage and administration
Pellets should be administered orally on the feed or fed separately. No dietary control is required before or after treatment. Add to feed immediately before administration. Discard any remaining medicated feed.
Cattle: Administer orally 25 g Panacur 1.5% Pellets per 50 kg bodyweight (=7.5 mg fenbendazole/kg bodyweight).

Cattle over 350 kg bodyweight should be given a further 25 g Pellets for each additional 50 kg bodyweight.
Pigs – routine treatment: Administer orally 5 g Panacur 1.5% Pellets per 15 kg bodyweight
(=5 mg fenbendazole/kg bodyweight).

Animals over 75 kg bodyweight should be given a further 5 g of Pellets for each additional
15 kg bodyweight.
Control of specific infections in pigs
In pigs, the dose may be divided and fed over 7 days. This regimen is advised in treating Trichuris suis or lungworm infection.
Treatment should be repeated when natural reinfestation of animals with parasitic worms occurs.
Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Assess bodyweight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage.
Intensive use or misuse of anthelmintics can give rise to resistance. To reduce this risk dosing programmes should be discussed with your veterinary surgeon.
Withdrawal times:
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
Cattle – Meat: 19 days
Milk: 7 days
Pigs - Meat: 3 days.
Operator warnings:
Direct contact with the skin should be kept to a minimum. Wear rubber gloves to minimise contact with the skin. Wash hands after use.
Environmental warnings:
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with national requirements. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with product or used containers. Dangerous to aquatic life.
