Pig Vaccines

Porcilis PRRS

Porcilis PRRS is a vaccine used to immunise breeding stock and growing pigs against reproductive and respiratory problems due to PRRS virus.

Porcilis Ery+Parvo

For the active immunisation of sows and gilts as an aid in the control of swine erysipelas and for the protection of embryos and foetuses against Porcine parvovirus infection.

Product nameProduct description
Heptavac An aqueous vaccine containing 7 Clostridium antigens. The vaccine is used to immunise breeding stock against Cl tetani and Cl novyi, and through their colostrum to prevent clinical signs in piglets due to toxins from Cl perfringens B, C and D, also Cl tetani. Heptavac may be given to pregnant sows; a 5ml intramuscular injection is required at 6 and 3 weeks pre-farrowing initially, and then a single injection 3-4 weeks pre-farrowing at subsequent farrowings.
Lambivac Lamb dysentery, struck, pulpy kidney and tetanus vaccine. An aqueous vaccine containing 2 Clostridium antigens. The vaccine is used to immunise breeding stock against Cl tetani. Piglets receiving colostrum from sows vaccinated with Lambivac will be protected from the toxins of Cl perfringens C and also Cl tetani. Lambivac may be given to pregnant sows; a 5ml intramuscular injection is required at 6 and 3 weeks pre-farrowing initially, and then a single injection 3-4 weeks pre-farrowing at subsequent farrowings.
Porcilis AR-T A vaccine used to control infection and clinical signs of Atrophic Rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica and Pasteurella multocida. The vaccine is administered to breeding stock as a 2ml intramuscular injection, previously non-vaccinated gilts or sows require 2 injections 5-6 weeks apart, the second vaccination not being closer than 2 weeks pre-farrowing. For subsequent farrowings sows require a single 2ml vaccination.
Porcilis Ery A vaccine for the active immunisation of breeding stock and growing pigs to control swine erysiplelas. Gilts, sows and boars previously non-vaccinated require a 2ml dose of Porcilis Ery given intramuscularly, a 2nd vaccination is then given 4 weeks later. Porcilis Ery may be given during lactation, at weaning or during pregnancy. Growing pigs may be vaccinated from 6 weeks of age with the above dose and intervals. 25 and 50 dose vials are available.
Porcilis Ery+Parvo A vaccine given to gilts and sows to control porcine parvovirus and swine erysipelas. Gilts and sows require a single intramuscular 2ml injection of Porcilis Ery+Parvo given at least 2 weeks prior to mating to give sufficient protection against parvovirus. In order to give protection against erysipelas a single dose of Porcilis Ery must be given either 4 weeks before or 4 weeks after Porcilis Ery+Parvo. An annual booster of Porcilis Ery+Parvo is advised.
Porcilis Glasser An aqueous vaccine for the active immunisation of pigs to control infection caused by Haemophilus parasuis presenting as Glasser’s disease. A 2ml intramuscular vaccination is given to young growing pigs followed 2 weeks later by a 2nd 2ml vaccination.
Porcilis M Hyo A vaccine used in young pigs to prevent lung lesions and clinical signs due to infection by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Pigs may be vaccinated intramuscularly with 2ml of Porcilis M Hyo from 1 week of age, a 2nd vaccination is then given 3 weeks later. Duration of immunity is at least 20 weeks after the 2nd vaccination.
Porcilis Porcol 5 A vaccine for gilts and sows which provides via the colostrum passive immunity to piglets against neonatal enterotoxicosis (scours) caused by E.coli. The vaccine contains pili antigens Fab, Fac, F5 and F6 and LT toxoid. Previously non-vaccinated sows & gilts require two injections of Porcilis Porcol 5 given as a 2ml intramuscular injection with an interval of 5-6 weeks, the 2nd vaccination being at least 2 weeks prior to farrowing. A booster vaccination is required for subsequent farrowings, this can be given at weaning or during pregnancy and up to within 2 weeks of farrowing.
Porcilis PRRS Used to vaccinate breeding and finishing pigs against reproductive and respiratory problems due to PRRS virus. Growing pigs can be vaccinated from 2 weeks of age; a single 2ml intramuscular vaccination will provide protection against the effects of PRRS virus infection through to slaughter weight. PRRS virus can compromise the health, growth and profitability of growing and finishing pigs by causing respiratory problems. Breeding pigs can also be vaccinated with Porcilis PRRS giving a significant improvement in reproductive performance in PRRS positive farms.
