Winter lice season just around the corner

With many cows already housed for the winter, now is the ideal time to plan how to best control the parasites you might find over the coming few months.
Many farmers are reporting that infestations of biting and sucking lice have become more problematic over the past few years. This means an effective treatment strategy is even more important. It’s hard to say whether this increase is due to a reduction in the use of topical powders, most of which have been withdrawn from sale in recent years, the use of injectable ivermectins that have little effect against biting lice, or other unidentified factors.
