Dry cow therapy planning pays off with better success rates

For some  people, dry cow management and therapy is the same now as it was five, or even 10 years ago.  The reasons for drying cows off remain the same, as do the challenges that the cow faces at this time, specifically failure to clear up a mastitis infection that was present at drying off, and picking up a new infection at this time.

 

The two main factors to consider when looking at dry cow therapies are their cure rates and spectrum of activity, ie against which bacteria are they known to be effective.
