Persistence pays off

25 November 2003

David Barron of Animal Aids in Wincanton is a direct marketer’s dream, as he religiously fills in and returns just about all the forms he receives in the post. This time his persistence has paid off and he is now the proud owner of a top-of-the range Canon digital camera, courtesy of Intervet’s poultry department.

Intervet works closely with its poultry customers, offering technical and advisory services in support of their vaccine business. These services include vaccine administration auditing, equipment advice, in addition to technical product and disease information. The digital camera was offered as a prize in response to a recent questionnaire aimed at more appropriate tailoring of these information services to producers. David’s entry was drawn from over 270 replies.

David Barron is one of the founding directors of Animal Aids, and has been working for the company for over 35 years. Animal Aids is one of the UK’s leading distributors of health products and services to the poultry industry and has customers stretching from Kent to Cornwall and up as far as Scotland. The company also offers laboratory services through a sister company (Wincanton Laboratory) which is also the home of the Poultry Health Centre headed by specialist poultry vet David Parsons.

David is looking forward to getting to grips with the new technology. “I’m sure it will be most useful, just as long as the instructions aren’t too complicated. However it is a most generous prize that I was not expecting and doubtlessly will provide my family and me with many hours of pleasure”.
